David Gray Returns Live in August

David Gray
Originally uploaded by Mike.
By far, one of the best things that came from my years at WKZE was discovering David Gray's music. Tracks like Everytime, White Ladder, Babylon, Late Night Radio and Shine are great examples of this Welsh talent. A new album is on the way this fall and with it, David plays a few US and Canada shows during August.

I can't wait. www.davidgray.com

Grand National Finally Make Some Waves Over Here

Cover of Kicking The National Habit
Originally uploaded by Mike.
Well, in the "grand" scheme of things, bands like Grand National leave their mark on the homefront years before venturing stateside. It took just over a year and a half for it to happen, with help from BBC 6Music and other savvy programmers early on. I caught singles such as 'Talk Amongst Yourselves' and 'Playing in the Distance' early on through the net, so I'm a new fan respectively. So after successfully crossing the pond with shows at Knitting Factory and getting airplay on stations like KCRW, it's only a matter of time before their recent effort, 'Kicking The National Habit' finds a US distributor. In the meantime, iTunes users can buy the album here.
